Lakica called too soon

On the 6th of January 2023, a late-night accident occurred at Kamdini along the Kampala-Gulu highway in Apac district, killing 19 people.
Lakica Duncan Angoma, a first-class graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, from Uganda Christian University (UCU) in 2022, was among those killed on the spot.
According to Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson, the accident involved a Roblyn bus, REG No. UAT 259P, which rammed into a stationary trailer truck, REG No. UAZ 381A/UBD 318C, at Adebe trading center, just 1km from the Kamdini checkpoint, while traveling from Kampala to Gulu.
In the same statement, Okema revealed that 11 people died on the spot, while 8 others died at Atapara Hospital, where they had been rushed for medical care, and that some of the victims remain in critical condition at the hospital.
Background
Lakica was born on December 2, 1996, to Robert Okello of South Sudan and Sabina Laker in Pamolo Village, Kitugum District, in the northern part of the country.
The late student attended Kizibu Primary School for his primary section, Comprehensive Secondary School for his O-level, Intensive Secondary School for his A-level, and Uganda Christian University for his undergraduate.
Lakica was the general manager of Canaan farms in Kiryandogo District and a board member at Christ Crucible Primary School.
He was laid to rest at his paternal grounds in Namakora Village in Kitgum District.
