Building Bridges That Last: Strengthening the Alumni Bond.
There is something profoundly beautiful about belonging and knowing that, no matter where life takes us, we are connected by a shared story, journey, and purpose. Our alumni family is more than just a network; it is a living testament to growth, faith, and enduring bonds. This family is a vibrant and expanding community, united by shared memories, a common identity, and a collective responsibility to uplift the institution that helped shape us. As Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; staying together is progress; and working together is success.”
As Administrator, UCU Alumni Association, I know that the strength of any alumni association relies on members staying connected, engaged, and giving back. Our alma mater takes pride not only in her students but also in the remarkable alumni who carry her values into the world. As Maya Angelou said, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” True success is measured by the lives we touch and the differences we make.
As alumni, we are ambassadors of our legacy. Our achievements reflect the values instilled during our time at the university: integrity, service, leadership, and excellence. It is therefore essential that we continue to create spaces where alumni can reconnect, collaborate, and contribute to a future that benefits both current students and generations to come. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” (Hebrews 10:24–25)
The call before us is clear: let us not be passive observers of our institution’s journey. Let us be active participants in its progress. Let us continue to build bridges between generations, between alumni and students, and between the university and the wider world. When we walk together as an alumni family, our impact is multiplied. Our collective wisdom becomes a resource, our collective influence becomes a force, and our collective support becomes a blessing to the institution and to one another.
As we move forward, I encourage you, our dear alumni, to take ownership of this shared journey. Stay connected. Update your information. Join your alumni chapters, attend alumni events, promote the work of the association, support initiatives that strengthen the university, and most importantly, continue to be proud ambassadors of the institution we all call home.
Together, we can build an alumni community that is not only present, but powerful; not only visible, but valuable; not only remembered, but deeply impactful. May our hearts remain invested in the institution that helped shape our minds, our character, and our calling.
As the secretariat, we remain committed to ensuring that your voices are heard and your achievements recognized. This is your platform, your story, your legacy.
Our Family UCU, Our Pride.

Administrator, UCU Alumni Association.
